When you name an offense on the Offenses tab of the Incident Log, you must complete a worksheet that describes details about the offense.
Offense Definition and Elements
Each offense Definition has a unique set of Elements that must be met before final determination can be made regarding which offense(s) was/were committed. Use the "stack and shred" procedures when determining the appropriate offense(s) committed:
Stacking - One incident may have multiple offenses committed. This is referred to as "stacking."
Shredding - Review each of the elements checklist for each of the offense(s) identified, making sure that the elements have been met. This is referred to as "shredding."
