If your are having difficulty activating a 504 Plan or IEP, review the dates for the Actual Conferences and Consent to Amend IEP (if applicable).
Once a plan is activated,
a later Actual Conference
date is required to activate a draft -
For
an 504 Plan or IEP to be
activated, the referral must contain an Actual
Conference document with a
date later
than any conference that had taken
place before the previous plan was activated. See the example below.
The conference boxed in blue
took place before an Initial
IEP had been activated. The one
in red
is for an IEP Revision. Although all prerequisites
may be completed, the IEP Revision cannot
be activated. This is because the conference is 11/12/2010, which is the same day as the last conference
for the Initial IEP.
For Revision IEPs, Consent
to Amend IEP date can be used instead of Actual Conference -
For IEP to be activated, the
Consent to Amend can be used instead of Actual Conference. In those
cases, the Consent Form Signed Date is used, and the same rules for
Actual Conference dates are applied.
TIP: On the 504 Plan-Actions
or IEP-Actions tabs, the Conference
Dates box displays conferences
that apply to the current draft of the plan. Only conferences that
have not
been credited toward a previous
plan are listed in the box.
