The Manifestation Determination (MD) is triggered when a student receiving IDEA/504 protections accumulates more than 10 days of suspension per school year. The purpose of the MD is to determine whether the misconduct that resulted in disciplinary action is a manifestation of the student's disability.
Before proceeding with documenting MD, please note:
Conferences - Manifestation Determination must be named as the purpose of an Actual Conference under an existing IDEA or 504 referral.
Determination - After the Actual Conference takes place, the MD can be documented on the Manifestation Determination tab of the Suspect Form.
