The first stage in the Student Support Process is to Express Concern.
Once a concern about a student is expressed, the school logs a referral. If a student is suspected of having a disability, the referral must be notated as such. Other tasks include assembling a team, scheduling a conference and notifying participants.
Tasks you may accomplish during this stage:
Build a Student Team list.
NOTE: Not all tasks listed above may apply. For example, for a student with multiple referrals, the task of building a team may not be necessary if a team already had been assembled.
Next Stage: After you have accomplished tasks that apply in this stage, you may proceed to the next one, which is to Define Needs.
