This document provides an overview of Supports and Services.
What are Supports and Services?
The DOE provides an array of supports that corresponds to the severity, complexity and frequency of each student's needs.
Provisioning Supports and Services for Students
Provisioning supports without a referral
Schools may wish to provision Level 1 or 2 services without initiating a formal support plan (i.e., without a referral). Services can be provisioned the following ways:
For individual student - In the Student Profile, on a student's Concerns tab or Supports tab.
For a group of students - In the School Profile, Community Activities for PCNC activities.
Provisioning services as part of a formal support plan (with referral)
For formal plans (i.e., - 504 Plan or IEP), supports and services are provisioned in the plans themselves.
504 Plan - On the Accommodations and Related Services tab of the 504 Plan.
IEP - On the Services tab of the IEP.
Requesting Service Provider
Requests for service providers are made for formal plans only (i.e., IEP or 504 Plan). Plans must have supports provisioned before a school can proceed with requesting service providers.
See instructions for requesting service provider.
Logging Services
Logging services in eCSSS is an important means to track whether the school is following through on its commitment to help students succeed.
To log services, do the following:
Services for an Individual Student (without referral) - Go to Student Profile > Supports tab.
Services Provisioned in a 504 Plan or IEPs (part of a referral) - Do either of the following:
If you are a service provider, go to Service Log.
If you are logging services on behalf of a service provider, search for the student, then select the Supports tab.
