IEP - ESY

Extended School Year (ESY) services are special education and related services that extend beyond the regular school year for a special education student. The Student Team considers many factors when determining the student's eligibility for ESY. Entries in this screen are for section 20 of the IEP form.

To document ESY on an IEP, do the following:

1. After the IEP is initiated, select the ESY tab.

2. Read the ESY Standard box, which summarizes the basis for determining whether a student is eligible for ESY.

3. Answer the Yes or No to The student DOES meet the standard for an extended school year. Selecting Yes displays a text field.

4. If the student DOES meet the standard, enter a statement regarding the Extent To Which ESY Is Necessary.

5. Proceed as appropriate to other areas of the IEP:

   • Considerations

   • PLEP

   • Transition Services

   • Standards and Goals

   • Services

   • ESY

   • Statewide Assessment

   • LRE

   • Actions
