The Present Levels of Educational Performance (PLEP) is a description of the student's educational strengths and needs in academic, non-academic, and/or extra-curricular settings, given various types and levels of support. Entries on this tab are for section 10 of the IEP form.
To enter PLEP information, do the following:
After the IEP is initiated, select the PLEP tab.
Enter information into the following fields:
Exempted from Reading Assessment - Checkmark this field, if appropriate. You may proceed to entering information into the PLEP field.
Reading Assessment Used – This is required for an Annual or Reevaluation IEP, but not for an initial IEP. Select Exempt for Pre-K students.
Scaled Score – If a Reading Assessment was selected, you must also enter the scaled score.
Grade Equivalent – Enter the grade equivalent of the scale score for the selected Reading Assessment.
Assessment Date – Enter the date the Reading Assessment was conducted.
PLEP – Your Evaluation Summary statement becomes the foundation for the PLEP statement. Edit this information as necessary. Include the Educational Impact Statement, which should describe how the disability affects the student's involvement and progress in the general education curriculum. To add the Evaluation Summary, click on Import PLEP. The current PLEP information will be overwritten by the Evaluation Summary import.
